1. Finding Threats: Each of our customers in the field (millions of them) is constantly on the lookout for "suspicious" files popping up on their machines. When one is detected it is sent in for analysis. Since CyberDefender Early Detection Center is installed on hundreds of thousands of computers it is likely that new threats will be picked up by one of them very early in its lifecycle, long before it finds its way to your computer.

2. Creating Fixes: CyberDefender's automatic threat evaluation system checks the files to determine what they are, how they work, how to detect them, and how to remove them safely. It packs this information up and makes it available for downloading to all of our customers.

3. Immunizing Your Computer: Rather than just passing out copies of this information one at a time from a central location as our competitors do, our peer-to-peer network distributes threat files in a "peer-to-peer" fashion where each computer that receives the threat information (or "peer") sends it out to a few others. This creates an exponential number of deliveries over time. Even if we need to send threat data out to millions of computers it only takes a few seconds longer than sending it to hundreds of them. Instead of taking hours or days to contact each customer computer and hand it a copy, in a matter of minutes all of the computers in our network get the latest data.
